- Past Renewable Energy Research and Development awards averaged $2.8 million; this notice allows up to $10.0 million per award.
- Most of the program's money (30% over five years) went to colleges and universities.
- The notice requires cost sharing or matching funds, so you must contribute part of the project cost.
What the grant funds
Specifically, this FOA will implement two approaches to energy storage in concentrated solar-thermal (CST) systems: thermochemical storage via solar fuel production and local thermal energy storage (TES) for dispatchable energy. The two technologies will support the government-wide approach to the climate crisis by driving the innovation that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies, which are critical for climate protection. Modification 000001: Modified the Full Application Deadline and expected date for Selection Notifications; see the cover page of the FOA.
