Track 1: Accelerator Stewardship Topical Areas Applications for activities in Track 1: Accelerator Stewardship Topical Areas will be accepted from all responsible domestic organizations capable of meeting the objectives of this FOA. Track 2: Long-Term Generic Accelerator R&D Applications for activities in Track 2: Long-Term Generic Accelerator R&D will only be accepted from regionally-accredited U.S. academic institutions or domestic nonprofit organizations subject to Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Limiting eligibility to regionally-accredited U.S. academic institutions or domestic nonprofit organizations subject to Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is necessary because limits the pool of applicants to those most likely to be favorably reviewed. The restriction makes the best use of limited budgetary resources by increasing support for investigators at domestic institutions. The restriction also enhances the ability to find non-conflicted merit reviewers. Track 3: Accelerator-Technology Sector Production Enhancement Applications for activities in Track 3: Accelerator-Technology Sector Production Enhancement will be accepted from all responsible domestic organizations capable of meeting the objectives of this FOA.
