What the grant funds

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Veterinary Services (VS) announces the availability of up to $40,000,000 in funding through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and the 2018 Farm Bill for the National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program FY 2027 Industry Preparedness Funding Opportunity. Through NADPRP, APHIS partners with eligible entities to provide financial support for high-value projects to prevent or mitigate the introduction and spread of foreign and emerging animal diseases that pose significant risks to U.S. agriculture. The purpose of the NADPRP FY 2027 Industry Preparedness Funding Opportunity is to enhance producers’ and industry readiness for high-consequence foreign animal disease (FAD) outbreaks by strengthening prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery knowledge and capabilities. APHIS makes funding available to support projects in animal disease and pest preparedness and response priority topic areas that are identified through consultation with eligible entities and stakeholders. Additional details about the program are available on the USDA APHIS NADPRP website. This competitive funding opportunity is open to livestock producer organizations and veterinary organizations. Applicants MUST have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), an active SAM.gov account and an ezFedGrants account to apply. Applicants are strongly advised to start the SAM and ezFedGrants registration processes immediately to allow enough time to meet the application submission deadline. Only electronic submission of application packages through ezFedGrants will be accepted. Applicants must submit applications electronically via ezFedGrants by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on January 7, 2027. Late and/or incomplete application packages will not be accepted. NADPRP Information: Resources and information on NADPRP that may be helpful to applicants, including descriptions of funded projects and required application forms, can be found on the USDA APHIS NADPRP website.
