A protection and advocacy system established under title I of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act which submits a timely application conforming to the requirements in this notice will be eligible to receive an award.

## What the grant funds

Section 1150 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1320b-21), State Grants for Work Incentives Assistance to Disabled Beneficiaries, authorizes the Commissioner of Social Security to make payments in each State to the protection and advocacy (P&A) system for the purpose of providing services to disabled beneficiaries who want to work. These grants may be awarded to the P&A system in each of the fifty States as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the P&A system for Native Americans.
