The intent of this Notice of Funding Opportunity Announcement(NOFO) is to support applicants not currently funded under CDC-RFA-DP19-1908. If there is already an award under CDC-RFA-DP19-1908 supporting MMRC activities in a state or jurisdiction applicants in these jurisdictions are not eligible for funding under this NOFO as this would be a duplication of efforts. CDC will consider any applications non-responsive, and it will not receive further review if the following documents are not submitted as specified in the collaboration section of this NOFO: Authorities and Protections MOU; Vital Records Access MOU; MMRIA MOU; and MMRIA Data Sharing Agreement

## What the grant funds

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces the availability of funds to support agencies and organizations that coordinate and manage MMRCs to identify and characterize pregnancy-related deaths for preventability, abstract clinical/non-clinical data into a standard data system, conduct informant interviews to inform individual case review, and enter information into a standard data system within 2 years of death. In addition, funds may be available to build operationalization capacity of MMRC recommendations that reach specific populations with documented maternal health disparities.
